Safety & Quality for you

Just in case, here are some general tips and tricks for functional mushroom safety.

Our guidelines how you can use our products safe.

For the most part, functional mushrooms are as safe as edible mushrooms. In fact, most functional mushrooms are edible mushrooms; the only difference is the preparation, concentration, and intention behind why you’re consuming them.

  • Always take the recommended dose.
  • Always consult the guidance of a trusted medical professional before making adjustments to any therapy.
  • Make sure you purchase mushrooms from a reliable source.

Be safe and be educated

By definition functional foods need to be everyday foods that produce positive effects on metabolism beyond their nutritive value, enhancing well-being and reducing risk of disease.

Functional mushrooms are nutritionally rich and feature therapeutic potential. But, mushrooms alone are not a cure-all. Instead, they should be included as a vital part of a healthy diet, lifestyle, and doctor-approved treatment plan. Regardless, there’s a reason mushrooms have been used as medicine for millennia: they’re good for you.

Mushrooms aren’t magic

No herb, mushroom, or supplement is a cure-all. Don’t expect major changes to happen overnight, and as with any wellness or health regimen, you still have to put in the work. If you’re taking Reishi for stress but making no effort to reduce or manage what you’re experiencing, you can’t expect your stress to simply disappear. As with herbs, supplements, or pharmaceuticals, you need to do your part to deal with the root cause of your issues, not simply treat the symptoms.

Product Quality – Our products are 100% mushrooms fruiting bodies

There are two parts to a mushroom. The above ground portion (Fruiting Bodies) and the underground root structure (Mycelium).

Mushroom powders are considered superior to mycelium powders. Many other powders contain mycelium. Mycelium is grown on starch, rice or other grains. The mycelium and the substrate product which they have grown on are often freeze dried and ground up into powders. These products are often labelled as ‘full spectrum mushrooms’. Often when the label says ‘mycelium’, it is not 100% mycelium but myceliated grain where the grain is not separated from the final product.

Our products contain no mycelium and no inferior grains which could result in a reduction of the active bio substances.

Vegan food

Mushrooms are part of the Fungi kingdom and are neither plants nor animals. Given they are not part of the Animalia (or Animal) kingdom, they are – other considerations aside – absolutely fine for vegans to consume.

Mushrooms have and continue to form a stable base of many vegetarian and vegan diets, thanks to their delicious umami flavour and nutrient density.
